East Boro has been asked by the NHS and local Councils to find permanent homes for adults with severe learning disabilities who are currently in long stay hospital or in danger of being hospitalised. 

 

Three bungalows have already been purchased in the Kinson / Bear Cross area of Bournemouth.

 

Two of the bungalows are shown below. We are looking for another eight.

 

The properties will be refurbished in order to meet the needs of their occupants, including the provision of a wetroom and and kitchen replacements where required. 

 

This programme is funded largely by the NHS. Each purchase is a partnership involving Council Adult Social Care and NHS staff, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses and Doctors, and Care Staff.
